Deliverability : 4 out of 5
Mailigen’s deliverability is overall good. This score determines the chances of your email landing into the inbox vs. the spam folder. Most of their IP addresses have high reputation scores.
Newsletter Creation: 2 out of 5
Mailigen offers HTML/Plain Text and Drag and Drop editor to create your newsletters and messages. There isn’t a huge collection of templates, but they are all good looking. You can check the spam score before sending a message, however their system does not tell you what the overall score is or explains in plain English whether it will end up in a spam folder or not. Mobile preview feature lets you see how your email will look like on a mobile device, tablet and desktop. All the emails sent by Mailigen are responsive.
Spell check feature is not available anymore. They don’t provide any free or paid stock images, however you do get 10MB of free storage (upgradable to 100mb for $5) to store your own images. There is no inbox check feature available to see how your email will display on various email programs.
Overall the editor is easy to use and it only takes a few minutes to make changes to an existing template.
Dynamic content is another unique feature offered by Mailigen. You can insert content in your newsletter which will only be sent to certain subscribers based on criteria set up by you. For example, you can specify certain email addresses or use segmentation, like females only. This can be a very helpful feature in case you have a huge subscriber base to work with.
Ease of Use: 4 out of 5
Mailigen’s interface is easy to use and we didn’t have any problems figuring out how their system works.
Support: 4 out of 5
There is an FAQ available in their Support section and also a downloadable user guide. There are some video tutorials available also. It would be nice if they could have more video tutorials and more detailed FAQs. You can also contact them for a training session in order to learn how to use their system. Live chat and phone support is offered during weekdays while email support is available 7 days a week round the clock.
