What should I look for while choosing the best email marketing software?

There are a few factors that make them different from each other. The following is what you should look for priority-wise:

  1. Deliverability Score: This score determines what the chances would be for your emails to land in your subscriber’s inbox instead of the spam folder. The higher the score, the better are the chances of making it to the inbox. This directly impacts your overall conversion rates or revenue. If 90% of your emails are going to the inbox an 10% to the spam folder, then there is a potential of losing 10% of conversions, which can result in a significant loss if you are sending a newsletter to thousands of subscribers. High deliverability should be the first priority while choosing an email marketing software.
  2. Newsletter Creation Tool: If you don’t have your own graphic designer and are creating newsletters yourself, you would want to make sure that the email marketing software offers a drag and drop editor which makes it quite easy to create a  newsletter and saves a lot of time also.
  3. Features: Make sure that the email marketing software offers all the important features that you need. Come up with a list of features that you need and then take a look at the comparison chart on our home page to determine which EMS offers the features you need.
  4. Pricing
  5. Support
  6. Ease of Use

The pricing is quite similar with most providers. If you are a high volume sender, you can negotiate the price with them. 24 hour support is rare with most providers, but they should at least offer a 7 day/week support. Do you prefer to use phone, email or live chat to contact them? Do they offer easy to understand tutorials: text and video both? Check our comparison chart about what kind of support they offer.

Ease of use is the last factor in choosing a provider. Most of them offer a user friendly platform. Even if they didn’t, it will just take you longer to learn it. So be prepared to go through a learning curve.

Why have you not included all the other email marketing software?

We started our research with more than 100 companies that offer email marketing software and narrowed down our list to the top 8. A lot of them have great websites, but they don’t even own any mail servers and are renting them. Which means that they have no control over the deliverability of your messages. Some of them claim high delivery rates, but an average user has no way of verifying until they sign up.

We have chosen these 8 companies after doing thorough research. These companies are well known and are already serving thousands of clients, have their own custom software, mail servers and full time staff that work with ISPs and ESPs to ensure that your messages get delivered to them. Bulk emailing requires a lot of leg work and that is what they specialize in.

It is possible that we may include more companies in future if they seem worthwhile. However, if you were to research them yourself, it is quite possible that you may also choose from the same list that we offer.
